Post 5 >> Does agronomic engineering make the world a better place?

Today I am going to talk about my career (Agronomic Engineering) and how it affects the world.

Agronomy has three aspects that affect the environment to a great extent, the first one is the great water requirements of the crops and fruit trees that are worked, being in Chile, an industry that uses more than 70% of the available fresh water. Second, the livestock industry generates high percentages of greenhouse gases. And third, due to the misuse or excessive use of agrochemicals, the soil is contaminated.

Because of the above, future agronomists have a great challenge in our work environment, since it will be up to us to look for ways in which our work does not affect the world as we know it.

The ways in which this can be solved, is by making conscious use of agrochemicals, implementing highly effective irrigation technology and reducing livestock areas.

That's all for today, goodbye.
